Gawura is a unique award-winning School located on Gadigal Land in the heart of Sydney's CBD. Gawura School embraces an authentic, culturally rich educational experience to our First Nations students.
However, providing a culturally rich education, within small class sizes, on Gadigal Land in the heart of Sydney CBD comes at a cost.
Therefore, we need your help.

Where does your donation go?
A donation to Gawura School directly contributes to funding the educational journey for our students and those who go on to study within St Andrew's Cathedral Secondary School. While we receive government funding, the mall class size, intensive literacy and numerous model we have, does not come cheap. Therefore, we need additional support from our community.
Your donation will directly contribute to:
school uniforms
essential learning resources
missed school lunches
extra curricula activities such as sport and music
after school care and homework clubs
school camps
cultural learning opportunities such as excursions, Aboriginal dance lessons, On Country trips.
All donations over $2.00 are tax deducible.
Gawura's Impact
Academic Results
In 2025 Years 3 and 5 received its highest ever NAPLAN results, with all but one category within the "strong" band.
Cultural Education
Intertwining cultural learning with a quality academic education, to increase a sense of self, heritage and an increased connection to school.
School retention and attendance
Through a dedicated bus service, engaging teachers, creating a safe cultural space, a strong connection to families and carer givers, Gawura's school attendance rates are higher than the State's average.
