St Andrew’s Cathedral School is delighted to be hosting exceptional Australian Educational Leaders over 2024, delivering powerful insights into Educational Leadership. The programme gives aspiring, new and experiences leaders a practical toolbox of skills to learn who you are, lead more effectively, and build high performing teams.

Our first instalment of the Leadership Programme, we have Neil McDonald, who’s career has seen him work as a teacher and principal in a range of schools from primary through to secondary, across special education and inclusive contexts, and large complex P-12 schools. As Chief Executive Officer of three large organisations, and having significant experience in HR within the state school sector, he brings a diverse background which enables him to effectively support and walk alongside leaders at all levels.

As a fully accredited coach with GCI, Neil has coached large numbers of middle leaders, aspiring managers, principals and senior leaders in government. Neil appreciates the complexities and challenges that both beginning and experienced leaders face and adopts a coaching style that enables him to easily connect with participants and understand the particular context and challenges they face.
